History

Mexteds position as a leader in New Zealand’s sports turf industry has come as a result of sound business planning and goal setting over many years.  It is fair to say, however, that back in 1972 founder Wilf Mexted would not have envisaged his family-based, general contracting business evolving into the highly specialised, professional company Mexteds is today.

The change of company name, from Mexted Contractors to Mexted Performance Sports Surfaces, reflects this journey and the company’s position in the industry in the 21^st century.

Some things haven’t changed.  While the company continues to grow, it remains family-owned.  The company is headed up by managing director, Steve Mexted and employs a strong team of managerial, administrative and technical staff.  Each employee is chosen not just for their know-how, but for their ‘team fit’, ensuring they understand, support and share Steve Mexted’s values for the business – in short, ‘good enough’ is never enough!
