Sports Turf Renovator - Christchurch - full-time, fixed term
We currently have an opportunity for a skilled Sports Turf Renovator to join our Christchurch team from late February.
This is a full-time fixed term engagement of up to six months, with the potential opportunity for on-going work.

We currently have an opportunity for a skilled Sports Turf Renovator to join our Christchurch team from late February.
This is a full-time fixed term engagement of up to six months, with the potential opportunity for on-going work.
The position will involve:
- carrying out a variety of turf management activities including capital works - drainage and irrigation, turf upgrades, installing synthetic surfaces, and sports field construction for ongoing key projects;
- safely operating machinery and equipment, and;
- carrying out general repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
- a strong work ethic, punctuality and reliability, pride within your work;
- a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and also independently;
- general knowledge of the sports turf industry and its principles, including irrigation and drainage, pest and weed control;
- experience in the field of grounds keeping and/or machinery operation (wheel, tractor, roller machine operations) including a focus on health & safety.
- level 3 or above Sports Turf Management qualified (or equivalent);
- full clean, Class 2 Drivers licence; and
- a valid NZ work visa or be a New Zealand citizen

Sports Turf Operator / Labourers
We are always interested in hearing from people who have relevant skills and an excellent work ethic who may be interested in a career with Mexteds' operations team.
You will have an interest in the sports turf industry and its principles, including all types of drainage, turf renovations/products, irrigation, earthworks, ground levelling and construction.
Useful skills or experience might include:
- Sports turf maintenance
- Operating wheel or tracked machinery (particularly tractors)
- H.T. licence (Heavy Truck) licence
- Mechanical engineering experience
And you will definitely have:
- A flexible attitude with ability to work as part of a close knit team
- A sound work ethic
- A willingness to work away from home from time to time
