Back in 1972 Mexteds' founder Wilf Mexted would never have envisaged his general contracting business evolving into the highly specialised, professional company we take pride in today.
But some things haven’t changed. While the company continues to grow, it remains family-owned. The company is headed up by managing directors, Steve and Sue Mexted, and employs a strong team of administrative and technical staff. Each employee is chosen not just for their know-how, but for their ‘team fit’, ensuring they understand, support and share Mexteds’ values for the business. In short, ‘good enough’ is never enough!

Steve MextedWith 40 years in the industry, Steve has technical and management experience in the construction and maintenance of numerous high-performance sportsfields throughout New Zealand. The growth of the business is testament to Steve’s success at achieving customer satisfaction. He is also known as an industry leader for adopting cutting-edge technologies for sports surface construction, upgrade and maintenance.

Sue MextedSue has been involved with Mexteds since marrying the boss, and has been a director for the past 25 years. She uses her sales and marketing skills - honed during a career in real estate - to actively support the company in key areas of management, including human resources, strategic planning, marketing, sales, financial planning and health and safety.

Cameron Mexted, B(Const)General Manager
027 4953 963 generalmanager@mexteds.co.nz Cameron has a Bachelor of Construction (Quantity Surveying), and spent time plying his trade with Downer in Christchurch both before and during the earthquake-recovery years. More recently he has spent time in Alberta, Canada as a Project Coordinator in the heavy industrial sector, before returning to apply his experience in the family business. He is now leading our management team as General Manager. |

Chris is renowned for identifying technology gaps and designing specialised equipment to fill these needs. His advice and in-depth knowledge is appreciated by clients looking for an efficient, quality and cost-effective result.

Shane MaddrenShane has a strong background in sports turf management, having previously worked for Downers. As Contracts Manager with Mexteds, he has a particular focus on health and safety, quality and environmental planning and compliance.
