Our Workshop team

Grant Dixon - Workshop Manager

Grant Dixon leads our team of engineers and diesel mechanics. Grant has qualifications in Automotive Heavy Engineering and extensive experience working with a diverse range of vehicles both in New Zealand and overseas.  His diagnostic and practical knowledge puts Mexteds’ workshop in a strong position to tackle the broad range of engineering, mechanical and maintenance work required to keep our plant and equipment running smoothly​. 

Hendrik Olivier - Engineer

Hendrik Olivier’s extensive experience and skills have given a boost to the engineering output of Mexteds’ workshop since he joined the company in 2023.
Alongside his background as a fitter & turner carrying out engineering work for his family business, Hendrik also gained his commercial pilot’s licence in his native South Africa. ​

​Jesse Free - Apprentice Engineer

Jesse joined Mexteds straight from school, and is already proving himself in the workshop with excellent all round ability and aptitude. He has begun a three year General Engineering apprenticeship with COMPETENZ. 

Quinn Ford - Apprentice Diesel Mechanic

Quinn Ford is pivoting into a Heavy Automotive Engineering apprenticeship with Mexteds, having previously worked in the butchery trade. He is enjoying learning new skills from Mexteds’ experienced Workshop staff and working on our wide range of sports turf equipment . 

Clayton Tume - Engineer

Clayton is the elder statesman of the Workshop, where his extensive knowledge of our plant and equipment and mechanical and engineering skills are highly valued, especially in helping to train new staff members.
Clayton elevates the mood of the team with his quirky sense of humour and annual watermelon-growing challenge.
