Repurposing material is a win-win for the environment and our clients. Mexteds' operations team have been removing crumb rubber from the artificial surface at Wellington City Council's Te Whaea Park in Newtown and rolling up the old artificial turf, which is being replaced, working for head contractor, Polytan. Rather than taking it to the landfill, Mexteds is re-laying the old crumb rubber at Trentham Racecourse, where it will be blended into the sand on the training track. In all, an impressive 450 tonnes of sand, rubber and grass were re-purposed primarily to the equestrian industry. We've also got takers lined up for the old artificial turf, so a big tick for recycling this week! |
